Palestinian Producer Price Index, during 2016 & December, 12/2016

 

 

Increase in the Producer Price1 Index (PPI) during 2016

 

The overall PPI in Palestine with its base month (December 2015=100) reached 101.07  in 2016, which indicates an increase by 2.57% compared to 2015.

 

Prices of PPI for 2016 increased due to the increase in the prices of goods in Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply group by 14.64%, prices of goods in Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities group by 7.28%, prices of goods in Manufacturing group by 2.29%, and the prices of goods in Agriculture, forestry and fishing group by 0.86%.

 

While the prices of goods in Mining and quarrying group decreased by 5.86% in 2016 compared to 2015.

 

The prices of locally consumed products increased by 2.75%, and the prices of local exported products increased by 1.12%.

Increase in the Producer Price Index (PPI) during December 2016

 

 

The overall PPI for Palestine with its base month (December 2015=100) reached 102.95 in December 2016, as it increased by 0.70% compared to November 2016.

 

PPI for locally consumed products

PPI for locally consumed products (December 2015=100) reached 103.15 in December 2016, which indicates an increase of 0.70% compared to November 2016.         

 

PPI for local exported products

PPI for local exported products (December 2015=100) reached 101.70 in December 2016, which indicates an increase of 0.19% compared to November 2016.

 

The changes of PPI for December 2016 were traced back to changes in prices of the following major activities compared to the previous month:
