Description |
National statistical offices in most countries place heavy emphasis on constructing sound
databases for all activities within economic activities. PCBS initiated the economic surveys
series in the reference year 1994. These series include surveys on the industry, services,
internal trade, construction-contractors, and transport and storage sectors. The sampling frame
for the different economic surveys was based on the findings of the Establishment Census
2007 conducted by PCBS.
Objectives
The objectives of the survey were to obtain data on:
Number of enterprises and persons engaged in economic activities by activity.
Value of output, intermediate consumption and stocks.
Value added components.
Payments and transfers.
Assets and capital formation.
Contribution of the surveyed activities to the GDP and other national accounts variables. |
