The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for Palestine with its base year (2019 = 100) reached 105.86 in May 2023, as it decreased by 1.91% compared to April 2023.
Primary estimates for GDP at constant prices showed a decrease of 2% in GDP in Palestine during the 1st quarter 2023 compared to the 4th quarter 2022
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.55 with a decrease of 0.49% during May 2023 compared with April 2023 (base year 2013=100).
An incessant deficit in the Current Account (goods, services, income, current transfers) which totaled USD 755 million. Mainly triggered by the deficit of the Trade Balance of Goods, which reached USD 2,052 million, as well as the deficit in Services Balance, which amounted to USD 333 million.
Exports decreased in April, 2023 by 25% compared to March, 2023, Imports decreased in April, 2023 by 21% compared to March, 2023.
The Net Stock of the International Investment Position (IIP) amounted to USD 3,327million at the End of the First Quarter of 2023
The overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during May 2023 recorded a decrease by 0.26% compared with April 2023 (0.31% in the West Bank**, 0.24% in Gaza Strip, and with a slight decrease by 0.04% in Jerusalem J1*).
A total of 2,530 building licenses were issued in the first quarter of 2023, of which 1,625 are new buildings.
The overall IPI in Palestine reached 96.86 during April 2023 with a decrease of 11.31% compared to March 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).
According to the data of the Ministry of Local Government, 2022, the generated municipal solid waste[1](MSW) in Palestine is 1.7 million ton/year (1.1 million ton/year in the West bank and 0.6 million ton/day).
