GDP per Capita for Palestine at constant prices was USD 769 during the 2nd quarter 2023
The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for Palestine with its base year (2019 = 100) reached 109.64 in August 2023, as it increased by 1.95% compared to July 2023.
An incessant deficit in the Current Account (goods, services, income, current transfers) which totaled USD 719 million. Mainly triggered by the deficit of the Trade Balance of Goods, which reached USD 1,992 million, as well as the deficit in Services Balance, which amounted to USD 332 million.
The number of hotel guests during the first half of 2023 doubled twice compared to the same period of the previous year, as the number of hotel guests in the West Bank reached 380 thousand, who stayed million nights.
The Net Stock of the International Investment Position (IIP) amounted to USD 3,397 million at the End of the Second Quarter of 2023
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 119.77 with a decrease of 0.28% during August 2023 compared with July 2023
Exports increased in July, 2023 by 8% compared to June, 2023. Imports increased in July, 2023 by 3% compared to June, 2023.
The overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during August 2023 recorded an increase by 0.73% compared with July 2023 (0.79% in the West Bank**, 0.70% in Jerusalem J1*, and by 0.59% in Gaza Strip).
A total of 2,395 building licenses were issued in the second quarter of 2023, of which 1,467 are new buildings.
Illiteracy rate among the Palestinian population (aged 15 years and above) in Palestine decreased during the period 1997-2022 from 13.9% to 2.2%. The rate declined from 7.8% in 1997 to 1.1% in 2022 among males, and declined from 20.3% to 3.3% among females during the same period.
The overall IPI in Palestine reached 109.24 during July 2023 with an increase of 2.68% compared to June 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).
