The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for Palestine with its base year (2019 = 100) reached 139.41 in February 2024, as it sharply increased by 3.97% compared to January 2024.
Decline in the gross domestic product in Palestine by 29%, and collapse in the economic system in Gaza Strip, in light of the sharp contraction in the gross domestic product in Gaza Strip during the fourth quarter of 2023 by 81% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestine.
The number of martyrs in Palestine since the start of the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7th, 2023 until March 27th, 2024 reached more than 32,700 martyrs; more than 14,000 children and more than 9,200 women
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.50 with a decrease of 0.15% during February 2024 compared with January 2024 (base year 2013=100).
Exports decreased in January, 2024 by 15% compared to January, 2023 and reached USD 130.8 Million, Imports decreased in January, 2024 by 34% compared to January, 2023 and reached USD 485.7 Million.
There are 12 stations in Gaza Strip to monitor rainfall amounts distributed from the north of Gaza Strip to its south. With the beginning of the Israeli occupation aggression on Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, all of these stations were completely destroyed.
Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe crisis and needs to obtain water. The period before the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7th, 2023, the average per capita of water consumption is approximately 84.6 liter/capita/day (l/c/d). However and since the beginning of the Israeli occupation aggression, this figure has dropped to only 3-15 (l/c/d).
The overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during February 2024 recorded a sharp increase by 8.20% compared with January 2024 (27.25% in Gaza Strip, by 0.66% in Jerusalem J1*, and with a slight increase of 0.02% in the West Bank).
45 Palestinian writers, artists and activists in the field of culture and heritage were Martyred, about 32 centers and cultural institutions, 12 museums were destroyed, and more than 2100 pieces of awards and embroidered pieces were destroyed, about 27 murals were destroyed and more than 8 publishing houses and printing houses, 3 companies and artistic production studios, 9 public libraries, 4 religious, 219 mosques were completely destroyed, 287 mosques were partially destroyed, and 3 churches were destroyed 195 historical buildings, 9 archaeological site, 19 universities and colleges were destroyed.
The total number of building licenses issued in the fourth quarter of 2023 decreased by 26% compared with the third quarter of 2023 and decreased by 28% compared with the fourth quarter of 2022, where the number of new building licenses decreased by 32% compared with the third quarter of 2023 and decreased by 33% compared with the fourth quarter of 2022.
Females constitute 49% of the total population in Palestine, the number of females reached 2.76 million in mid-2024 (1.63 million in the West Bank, and 1.13 million in Gaza Strip).
The overall IPI in Palestine reached 80.02 during January 2024 with a sharp decrease of 25.32% compared to January 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).
