Press Releases

The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for  Palestine with its base year (2011=100) reached 102.59 in June 2014, which indicates a slight increase by 0.02% compared to May 2014.
The Price Indices for Construction Cost, Road Cost, Water Networks Cost, Sewage Networks Cost in the West Bank, June, 06/2014  
The percentage of total number of workers in the transport, storage and communication activity in 2013 reached to 6.4% of total workers in Palestine,  comparing with 6.5% in 2012.
Exports increased in May, 2014 by 8.7% compared to April, 2014.Imports decreased in May 2014 by 2.1% compared to April, 2014.
The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine with its base year (2007=100) reached 121.56 in the Second quarter 2014, which indicates a decrease by 0.78% compared to the First quarter 2014.
The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during June 2014 increased by 0.36% compared with May 2014
The total population of Palestine at mid 2014 was about 4.55 million; 2.31 million males and 2.24 million females.
The overall Quantity of Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine reached 108.76 during May 2014 with an increase of 0.13% compared to the previous month (April 2014).
There are around 30 thousand graduates annually from Palestinian higher education institutions. In the 2013/2014 academic year, there were around 85 thousand applicants for the general matriculation exam.
