Sharp Decrease in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine during January, 2024/01 Compared with January, 2023/01

The overall IPI in Palestine reached 80.02 during January 2024 with a sharp decrease of 25.32% compared to January 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).

Compared with previous month, the overall IPI in Palestine reached 80.02 during January 2024 with an increase of 4.91% compared to December 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).

IPI for January 2024 sharply increased due to the increase in the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation by 72.04%, which had a share of 1.84% of the total industry, the activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply by 5.77%, which had a share of 7.38% of the total industry, the activities of Manufacturing Industry by 3.11%, which had a share of 87.89% of the total industry, and the activities of Mining and Quarrying by 2.39%, which had a share of 2.89% of the total industry.

Notice for Users:

Due to the Israeli attack on Gaza strip in October,7 2023 for the fourth month, all working institution in the industrial production wasn’t engaged in any production activity in Gaza strip for January 2024.
