Increase in the Wholesale Price1 Index during Third Quarter of 2014
The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine with its base year (2007=100) reached 122.20 in the Third quarter 2014, which indicates an increase by 0.53% compared to the Second quarter 2014.
Wholesale Price Index for local products (2007=100) reached 120.89 in the Third quarter 2014, which indicates an increase by 2.48% compared to the Second quarter 2014.
Wholesale Price Index for imported products (2007=100) reached 123.41 in the Third quarter 2014, which indicates a decrease by 1.59% compared to the Second quarter 2014.
The change of Wholesale Price Index in the Third quarter 2014 is traced back to changes in the prices of the following major activities compared to the previous quarter:
1 The resale (sale without transformation) of new and used goods to retailers, industrial, commercial, institutional or professional users, to other wholesalers, or to those acting as agents or brokers in buying merchandise for, or selling merchandise to such persons or companies. The wholesale price includes VAT and any transport charges.
