Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in the West Bank during the Second Quarter 2015
About 143 Thousand Guests Spent 418 Thousand Nights
During the second quarter 2015, 142,795 guests stayed in hotels in the West Bank: 29% were from European Union countries and 11% were Palestinians.
The number of hotel guests was 43% higher than in the first quarter of 2015 and 31% lower than the second quarter 2014.
During the second quarter 2015, the number of guest nights in the West Bank hotels reached 417,847: of which 32% were from European Union countries, 11% were Palestinians, and 10% were from the United States and Canada.

During the second quarter 2015, there were 3,030 hotel workers: (2,320 males and 710 females).
Hotel Room Occupancy
The room occupancy rate in the West Bank was 25% in the second quarter 2015.
Room occupancy during the second quarter 2015 was 28% higher than first quarter of 2015 and 17% lower than in second quarter 2014.
Hotel Capacity by Region
A hundred and ten hotels operating in the West Bank responded to the Hotel Activities Survey for the second quarter of 2015. These hotels had 6,826 rooms available with 15,211 beds. These were distributed by region as follows:
North of West Bank: 16 hotels comprising 340 rooms with 1,008 beds.
· Middle of West Bank excluding Jerusalem governorate: 35 hotels comprising 1,498 rooms with 3,266 beds.
· Jerusalem governorate: 22 hotels comprising 1,564 rooms with 3,430 beds.
· South of West Bank: 37 hotels comprising 3,424 rooms with 7,507 beds.
