Palestinian Wholesale Price Index, Third Quarter of 2015
Sharp Increase in the Wholesale Price1 Index during the Third Quarter of 2015
The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine with its base year (2007=100) reached 125.44 in the Third quarter 2015, which indicates an increase by 2.35% compared with the Second quarter 2015.
Wholesale Price Index for local products (2007=100) reached 128.32 in the Third quarter 2015, which indicates an increase by 4.69% compared with the Second quarter 2015.
Wholesale Price Index for imported products (2007=100) reached 121.54 in the Third quarter 2015, which indicates a slight increase by 0.03% compared with the Second quarter 2015.
The change of Wholesale Price Index in the Third quarter 2015 is traced back to changes in the prices of the following major activities compared to the previous quarter:
1 The resale (sale without transformation) of new and used goods to retailers, industrial, commercial, institutional or professional users, to other wholesalers, or to those acting as agents or brokers in buying merchandise for, or selling merchandise to such persons or companies. The wholesale price includes VAT and any transport charges.
