Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings reached 100.88 with an increase of 1.66% in the West Bank* during March compared with February 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings increased due to the increase in the labor wages by 3.29%, and the prices of raw materials by 1.09%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.27% during March 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings reached 101.05 with an increase of 1.55% in the West Bank* during March compared with February 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings increased due to the increase in the labor wages by 3.29%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.96%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.24% during March 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings reached 97.89 with an increase of 2.64% in the West Bank* during March compared with February 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings increased due to the increase in the labor wages by 3.86%, and the prices of raw materials by 2.44%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.12% during March 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.24 with an increase of 0.41% in the West Bank* during March compared with February
2016 (base month December 2008=100).
The overall Road Cost Index increased due to the increase in the labor wages by 1.54%, the prices of raw materials by 0.57%, and operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 0.50%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.48% during March 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 109.75 with an increase of 1.11% in the West Bank* during March compared with February 2016 (base month December 2010=100).
Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 100.34 with an increase of 2.71%, as well as, Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.02 with an increase of 0.48% during March 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 106.95 with a decrease of 0.36% in the West Bank* during March compared with February 2016 (base month January 2010=100).
Note:
* The data of West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.
NB:
1. Gaza Strip data is not available.
2. The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
