Preliminary Results of the Palestinian Registered* External Trade
in Goods of May, 05/2016.
Exports:
Exports increased in May, 2016 by 4.4% compared to April, 2016. While it decreased by 1.8% compared to May, 2015 and reached USD 83.5 Million.
Exports to Israel increased in May, 2016 by 3.5% compared to April, 2016 and represented 87.9% of total exports in May, 2016.
At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 11.2% during the same period compared to April, 2016.
Imports:
Imports increased in May, 2016 by 21.5% compared to May, 2016. It also increased by 19.7% compared to May, 2015 and reached USD 492.1 Million.
Imports from Israel increased by 12.7% in May, 2016 compared to April, 2016 and represented 50.6% of total imports in May, 2016.
At the same time, imports from other countries increased by 31.9% compared to April, 2016.
Net Trade Balance on Registered Goods:
The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports increased by 25.7% in May, 2016 compared to April, 2016. It also increased by 25.3% compared to May, 2015 and reached USD 408.6 Million.
