Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank*

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 103.72 with an increase of 0.44% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings increased due to the increase in labour wages by 1.72%, and rental of equipment by 1.00%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.19% during March 2017 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential buildings reached 103.74 with an increase of 0.34% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Non-Residential buildings increased due to the increase in labour wages by 1.72%, and rental of equipment by 0.91%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.29% during March 2017 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton buildings reached 101.81 with an increase of 0.15% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings increased due to the increase in labour wages by 1.61%, and rental of equipment by 0.46%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.53% during March 2017 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.38 with a decrease of 0.36% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base month December 2008=100).

The overall Road Cost Index decreased due to the decrease in operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 1.95%, rental of equipment by 0.49%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.43%, while labour wages increased by 0.32% during March 2017 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 111.61 with a slight increase of 0.07% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Networks Cost Index reached 115.05 with an increase of 0.15%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 104.05 with a decrease of 0.14% during March 2017 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 108.35 with an increase of 0.17% in the West Bank* during March 2017 compared with February 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

Note:

* The data of  West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

NB:

1.       Gaza Strip data is not available.

2.       The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
