The percentage increase in the number of mobile lines is double than it is in fixed telephone lines
Data from the Ministry of Telecom and Information Technology indicated that there has been an expansion in the fixed network infrastructure, accompanied with increased use by households and institutions of this network and related services, especially the internet service. 469,741 telephone lines  (Home, Commercial, Governmental) in Palestine at the end of 2018 compared with 360,402 lines at the end of 2010, with an increase of 30%.

There was an increase in the mobile cellular subscriptions by the end of 2018 to reach 4.3 million subscribers in Palestine compared to 2.6 million at the end of 2010, with an increase of 67%. Which reflected obviously in the mobile penetration rate per 100 inhabitants which reached 90 mobiles at the end of 2018 compared to 64 mobiles at the end of 2010.
    
More than 200% increase in the number of ADSL subscribers
The total number of ADSL subscribers in Palestine1 increased to about 361 thousand at the end of 2018 compared with 119 thousand at the end of 2010, with an increase of 202%. The average internet speed was 11.0 Mbps at the end of 2018 compared with 0.5 Mbps at the end of 2010.
 
96% of Palestinian households have at least one mobile phone line, with a wide use of smart phones
In the same context, the data of the Social and Economic Conditions Survey 2018 showed that 96% of the households in Palestine have one or more mobile phone lines (96% in the West Bank and 97% in Gaza Strip). The results also showed that the percentage of households that own one Smartphone or more was 82% in Palestine (88% in the West Bank and 73% in Gaza Strip).
    
Also, the results of the survey showed that the percentage of individuals (18 years and above) who own a mobile phone or a smartphone is 89% in Palestine (92% in the West Bank and 82% in Gaza Strip).  83% for females and 94% for males.

More than one-third of Palestinian households own a computer
The results of the Social and Economic Conditions Survey 2018 showed that 37% of households own a computer (Desktop, Laptop or Tablet) in Palestine (41% in the West Bank and 30% in Gaza Strip).  While the percentage of individuals (18 years and above) who used the computer from any location was 85% in Palestine (87% in the West Bank and 83% in Gaza Strip).

About 65% of Palestinian households have access to internet at their homes
The results of the Social and Economic Conditions Survey 2018 showed that 65% of the households in Palestine have internet access in 2018 (72% in the West Bank and 51% in Gaza Strip).  While the percentage of individuals (18 years and above) who used the internet from anywhere reached 64% in Palestine (69% in the West Bank and 57% in Gaza Strip).

About 81% of individuals (18 years and above) have basic ICT skills
ICT skills are fundamental for participation in the information society and are positively related to social well-being and economic productivity.  The data of the Social and Economic Conditions Survey 2018 showed that about 81% of  individuals (18 years and above) in the Palestine who used the computer have basic skills such as copying files or folders or using copying and pasting tools, and sending emails with attached files.  67% of individuals (18 years and above) who used the computer has standard skills such as installing or configuring software or using computational formulas on spreadsheets.

The economy of the ICT sector
The data of the 2017 Census indicated that the number of establishments working in the ICT sector accounted for 1,008 establishments out of the total economic operating establishments of (158,573) where this sector employed 9,200 persons in 2017 compared to 8,310 employees in 2012, which is an increase of 11%.
