Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* during March, 03/2024

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.63 with an increase of 0.11% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of the labour costs and wages increased by 0.67%. While, the prices of raw material decreased by 0.14%, and the prices of rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.04% during March 2024 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 119.57 with an increase of 0.10% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of the labour costs and wages increased by 0.67%. While, the prices of raw material decreased by 0.13%, and the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.12% during March 2024 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings in the West Bank* reached 119.22 with a decrease of 0.20% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (Base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material decreased by 0.55%, and the prices of rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.05%. While, the prices of the labour costs and wages increased by 0.52% during March 2024 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank* reached 117.75 with a decrease of 0.19% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (Base month December 2008=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of the labour costs and wages decreased by 0.97%, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.17%, and the prices of raw material decreased by 0.11%. While, the prices of operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 1.42% during March 2024 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank* reached 129.49 with a decrease of 0.24% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).

Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 118.88 with a decrease of 0.63%, and the Water Networks Cost Index reached 134.32 with a slight decrease of 0.09% during March 2024 compared with February 2024.

Slight decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* reached 116.97 with a slight decrease of 0.06% during March 2024 compared with February 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).

2.   The difference in the percentage change in major groups of roads, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.

*Data exclude those parts of Jerusalem, which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.
