After Thirteen months of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip the Consumer Price Index (CPI) sharply increased by 490%
The overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during November 2024 sharply increased by 14.75% compared with October 2024 (28.61% in Gaza Strip. While, the CPI decreased by 1.21% in the West Bank**, and by 0.85% in Jerusalem J1*).
The changes in Palestinian CPI during November 2024 were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure subgroups compared with the previous month:

The Palestinian CPI during November 2024 increased by 88.93% compared with November 2023 (344.91% in Gaza Strip, by 2.13% in Jerusalem J1*, and by 1.54% in the West Bank**).

*Data represent those parts of Jerusalem, which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.
**Data exclude those parts of Jerusalem, which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.
Due to the Israeli occupation aggression against Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023, the data for November 2024 were collected through direct phone contact with PCBS fieldworkers working in Gaza Strip. They focused on the prices for basic commodities purchased by them and those that are of high relative importance within the main major groups of expenditure in the consumer price index.
The prices of goods and services collected in New Israeli Shekels (NIS). The monthly average exchange rate of the US Dollar during November 2024 is (3.73 NIS/$).
The price level in the Gaza Strip is weighted, with the price in northern and central Gaza constituting 0.25% of the total average price, while in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Deir al-Balah it constitutes 0.75%, as most purchases made in the central and southern areas of Gaza Strip.
