Increase in the number of building licenses in Palestine*

In the second quarter of 2025 compared with the first quarter of 2025

The total number of building licenses issued in the second quarter of 2025 increased by 13% compared with the first quarter of 2025, and increased by 3% compared with the second quarter of 2024, at the same time the number of new building licenses increased by 31% compared with the first quarter of 2025, while it increased by 20% compared with the second quarter of 2024. 

A total of 1,637 building licenses were issued in the second quarter of 2025, of which 1,071 are new buildings.

The area of licensed buildings (residential and non-residential) totaled 807 thousand m², of which new buildings made up 665 thousand m² and existing buildings comprised 142 thousand m².

 The total number of licensed dwellings was 3,540 with a total area of 582 thousand m², of which 2,968 were new dwellings with a total area of 487 thousand m² and 572 were existing dwellings with a total area of 94 thousand m².

The number of new dwellings in the second quarter of 2025 increased by 29% compared with the first quarter of 2025, while it increased by 16% compared with the second quarter of 2024.
