Palestinian Consumer Price Index, May, 05/2014
Decrease in the CPI during May 2014 compared with previous month
The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during May 2014 decreased by 0.80% compared with April 2014 (decreased by 1.07% in Gaza Strip, by 0.84% in the West Bank, and by 0.40% in Jerusalem J1*
The CPI during May 2014 increased by 0.95% compared with May 2013 (4.68% in Jerusalem J1*, by 1.33% in Gaza Strip, and by 0.94% in the West Bank).
The CPI during the first five months of 2014 increased by 1.88% compared with the same period of the previous year (5.00% in Jerusalem J1*, by 2.55% in the West Bank, and by 1.25% in Gaza Strip).
The change in Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Palestine for May 2014 is traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared to the previous month:
