93% of Health Facilities in Palestine are Supplied with Water from the Public Water Network

The survey results revealed that 93.0% of health facilities (governmental  and non-governmental) in Palestine are supplied with water from the public water network, 14.9% purchase water tanks, 9.8% of health facilities rely on a rain water collection well,  and 1.4%  are supplied  from other sources.

A round 87 Thousand Cubic Meters of Water are Consumed Monthly by  Health  Facilities

The estimated quantity of water consumed by health facilities (governmental  and non-governmental) in Palestine was 86.7 thousand cubic meters per month in 2014, (59.6 thousand cubic meters per month in the West Bank, and 27.1 thousand cubic meters per month in Gaza Strip).

Less than Half of Health Facilities Used Wastewater Network to Dispose of Wastewater

Data showed that 45.3% of health facilities (governmental and non-governmental) in Palestine dispose of wastewater via the wastewater network, 28.6% use a porous cesspit, and 26.1% use a tight cesspit, and  2.2% of health facilities treat the wastewater.

Around 381 Tons of Solid Waste are Produced Monthly in Health Facilities

The estimated monthly quantity of solid waste generated by health facilities (governmental and non-governmental) in Palestine in 2014 was 381 tons: 277 tons in the West Bank and 104 tons in Gaza Strip.

Data showed that 81.3% of health facilities used metal containers for the solid waste, and  17.7% of them used plastic containers.
