Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in West Bank during the Third Quarter 2014
About 100 Thousand Guests Spent 273 Thousand Nights
During the third quarter of 2014, 99,811 guests stayed in hotels in the West Bank: 28% were from European Union countries and 11% were Palestinian.
The number of hotel guests was 52% lower than in the previous quarter and 27% lower than in the third quarter of 2013.
During the third quarter of 2014, the number of guest nights in West Bank hotels was 272,567 thousand: of these guests, 11% were Palestinian, 31% were from European Union countries and 13% were from the United States and Canada.

During the third quarter of 2014, there were 2,927 hotel workers: 2,252 males and 675 females.
Hotel Room Occupancy
The room occupancy rate in West Bank was 23% in the third quarter of 2014.
Room occupancy during the third quarter of 2014 was 26% lower than in the previous quarter and 1% lower than in the third quarter of 2013.
Hotel Capacity by Region
In September 2014, show that 109 hotels out of 118 hotels operating in the West Bank responded to the third quarter 2014 survey and have available 6,577 rooms with a total of 14,576 beds. These were distributed by region as follows:
· North of West Bank: 15 hotels comprising 289 rooms with 843 beds.
· Middle of West Bank: 36 hotels comprising 1,598 rooms with 3,452 beds
· Jerusalem: 22 hotels comprising 1,472 rooms with 3,270 beds.
· South of West Bank: 36 hotels comprising 3,218 rooms with 7,011 beds.
