Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during January, 01/2016
Decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings reached 99.47 with a decrease of 0.26% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.45%, while rental of equipments increased by 0.39%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during January 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings reached 99.75 with a decrease of 0.22% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.37%, while rental of equipments increased by 0.44%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during January 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings reached 95.70 with a decrease of 0.63% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.98%, while rental of equipments increased by 0.44%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during January 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 108.25 with a decrease of 1.03% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base month December 2008=100).
The overall Road Cost Index decreased due to the decrease in operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 2.99% and the prices of raw materials by 1.62%, while rental of equipments slightly increased by 0.05%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during January 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 109.14 with a decrease of 0.25% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base month December 2010=100).
Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 98.13 with a decrease of 0.86%, as well as Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.15 with a slight decrease of 0.01% during January 2016 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 107.60 with a decrease of 0.17% in the West Bank during January 2016 compared with December 2015 (base month January 2010=100).
Note:
The data of the West Bank doesn’t include that part of Jerusalem which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

1. Gaza Strip data is not available.
2. The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
