Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* during April, 04/2016
Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings reached 101.62 with an increase of 0.73% in the West Bank* during April compared with March 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings increased due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 1.20%, and rental of equipment by 0.10%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during April 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings reached 101.78 with an increase of 0.71% in the West Bank* during April compared with March 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings increased due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 1.13%, and rental of equipment by 0.16%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during April 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Construction Cost Index for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings reached 99.81 with an increase of 1.96% in the West Bank* during April compared with March 2016 (base year 2013=100).
The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings increased due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 3.00%, and rental of equipment by 0.28%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during April 2016 compared with the previous month.
Stability in the Road Cost Index (RCI)
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) during April 2016 remained stable around 107.24 as it recorded in March 2016 in the West Bank* (base month December 2008=100).
At the level of major groups, there was an increase in operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 1.87%, and in rental of equipment by 0.24%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.13%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during April 2016 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 110.59 with an increase of 0.77% in the West Bank* during April compared with March 2016 (base month January 2010=100).
Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 103.95 with an increase of 3.60%, while Water Networks Cost Index reached 113.61 with a decrease of 0.36% during April 2016 compared with the previous month.
Slight increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 106.97 with a slight increase of 0.02% in the West Bank* during April compared with March 2016 (base month January 2010=100).

* The data of West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

1. Gaza Strip data is not available.
2. The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
