Increase in the Consumer Price Index during August,08/2016
The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during August 2016 increased by 0.35% compared with July 2016 (by 0.77% in Gaza Strip, and by 0.66% in the West Bank**, while it decreased by 0.36% in Jerusalem J1*).
The CPI during August 2016 increased by 0.45% compared with August 2015 (by 1.03% in the West Bank**, while it decreased by 0.84% in Jerusalem J1*, and by 0.48% in Gaza Strip).
The CPI during the first Eight months of 2016 increased by 0.25% compared with the same period of the previous year (by 0.35% in the West Bank**, while it decreased by 1.43% in Jerusalem J1*, and decreased by 0.14% in Gaza Strip).
The change in (CPI) in Palestine for August 2016 is traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month:
