Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in the West Bank during 2016
About 448 Thousand Guests Spent 1.3 Million Nights
During 2016, 448,247 guests stayed in hotels in the West Bank: 28% were from European Union countries and 11% were Palestinian, 9% were from the United States and Canada.
The number of hotel guests was 8% lower than in the previous year.
During 2016 the number of guest nights in the West Bank hotels reached 1,310,824, of which 32% were from European Union countries, 13% were Palestinians, and 10% were from the United States and Canada.
The number of hotel guests was 8% lower than it was in 2016.

During 2016, there were 2,903 hotel workers: (2,229 males and 674 females).
Hotel Room Occupancy 2016
The room occupancy rate in the West Bank was 21% in 2016, with an average 1,414.0 rooms daily occupied.
Room occupancy during 2016 was 8% lower than in the previous year.
Hotel Capacity 2016
A hundred and twenty five hotels in the West Bank responded to the survey at the end of 2016. They had an average of 6,878 rooms and 15,145 beds.
These were distributed by region as follows:
· North of West Bank: 26 hotels comprising 455 rooms with 1,271 beds.
· Middle of West Bank: 37 hotels comprising 1,630 rooms with 3,342 beds.
· Jerusalem: 24 hotels comprising 1,325 rooms with 2,942 beds.
· South of West Bank: 38 hotels comprising 3,468 rooms with 7,590 beds.
