Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 103.63 with a slight increase of 0.06% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base year 2013=100).
The CCI for Residential buildings increased due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.11%, while the prices of rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.08%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during May 2017 compared with the previous month.
Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential buildings reached 103.62 with a slight increase of 0.05% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base year 2013=100).
The CCI for Non-Residential buildings increased due to a slight increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.09%, while the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.12%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during May 2017 compared with the previous month.
Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton buildings reached 101.69 with a slight increase of 0.09% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base year 2013=100).
The CCI for Skeleton buildings increased due to a slight increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.16%, while the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.18%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during May 2017 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.07 with an increase of 0.15% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base month December 2008=100).
The overall RCI increased due to the increase in the prices of operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 0.93%, prices of raw materials by 0.23%, and the prices of rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.02%. At the same time, the labour wages remained stable during May 2017 compared with the previous month.
Slight Decrease in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 110.99 with a slight decrease of 0.09% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base month January 2010=100).
Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.29 with a decrease of 0.15%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 103.73 with a slight increase of 0.05% during May 2017 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 108.12 with a decrease of 0.25% in the West Bank* during May 2017 compared with April 2017 (base month January 2010=100).
Note: * The data of West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem governorate which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

2. The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
