The Cabinet Commends the Achievements of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) and Adopts the Recommendation of H.E. the Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah to be Submitted to H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas to Grant PCBS the Palestine's Statistics Medal
Ramallah – Tuesday – 27/02/2018 - On the occasion of the 20th meeting of the Advisory Council for Official Statistics, chaired by H.E. the Prime Minister, the Cabinet commended the qualitative achievements of PCBS, which placed Palestine in an advanced and competitive position in the international statistical map and strengthened its presence and membership in specialized international organizations and bodies; thanks to its distinct capacities and flexibility to keep up with the developments and overcoming obstacles imposed the Israeli occupation on the ground.
The Cabinet extended its deep appreciation and gratitude to all PCBS staff for their perseverance and their distinguished efforts that enabled the achievement of the highest level and the progress of official statistics. The Cabinet also welcomed and supported H.E. the Prime Minister's recommendation to be submitted to H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas to grant PCBS the Palestine's Statistics Medal as a token of appreciation for PCBS great efforts, especially for the implementation of the Population, Housing and Establishments Census 2017 for the first time in Palestine using new technology (tablets) and geographic information system (GIS), the first ever census of the Palestinian Refugees in the Palestinian Refugee camps and gatherings in Lebanon, Obtaining the C2E “Committed to Excellence” certificate by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in 2017 and many other achievements that the Cabinet is proud of.
