Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* During January, 01/2022
Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 115.71 with a slight increase of 0.01% during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (base year 2013=100).
At the level of major groups, the prices of rental of equipment increased by 1.09%, while the price of raw material slightly decreased by 0.05%. At the same time, labour costs and wages remained stable during January 2022 compared with the previous month.
Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 115.03 with a slight decrease of 0.06% during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (Base year 2013=100).
At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material decreased by 0.16%, while the price of rental of equipment increased by 1.17%. At the same time, labour costs and wages remained stable during January 2022 compared with the previous month.
Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings in the West Bank* reached 116.76 with a decrease of 0.17% during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (Base year 2013=100).
At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material decreased by 0.32%, while the price of rental of equipment increased by 1.10%. At the same time, labour costs and wages remained stable during January 2022 compared with the previous month.
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank* reached 110.74 with a decrease of 0.20% during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (Base month December 2008=100).
At the level of major groups, the price of rental of equipment decreased by 0.36%, and the price of raw material decreased by 0.22%. At the same time, operating costs of equipment and maintenance and labour costs and wages remained stable during January 2022 compared with the previous month.
Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 126.19 with an increase of 0.42% in the West Bank* during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (Base month January 2010=100).
Water networks Cost Index reached 129.30 with an increase of 0.93%, while water reservoirs Cost reached 119.34 with a decrease of 0.77% during January 2022 compared with December 2021
Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* reached 111.65 with an increase of 0.13% during January 2022 compared with December 2021 (Base month January 2010=100).

1. Due to COVID-19 pandemic and inability to conduct face-to-face interview, data for CCI, RCI, WNCI and SNCI has been collected using mobile phones.
2. Gaza Strip data is not available.
3. The difference in the percentage change in major groups of roads, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
