Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 121.18 with an increase of 0.37% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 0.65%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.32%. At the same time, the prices of the labour costs and wages remained stable during May 2024 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.10 with an increase of 0.33% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 0.58%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.44%. At the same time, the prices of the labour costs and wages remained stable during May 2024 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.48 with an increase of 0.83% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (Base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 1.34%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.33%. At the same time, the prices of the labour costs and wages remained stable during May 2024 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank* reached 118.04 with an increase of 0.17% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (Base month December 2008=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of rental of equipment increased by 0.24%, and the prices of raw material increased by 0.22%. While, the prices of operating costs of equipment and maintenance, and the prices of the labour costs and wages remained stable during May 2024 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank* reached 130.12 with an increase of 0.37% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).

Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 120.77 with an increase of 1.53%. While, the Water Networks Cost Index reached 134.36 with a decrease of 0.10% during May 2024 compared with April 2024.

Decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* reached 116.93 with a decrease of 0.25% during May 2024 compared with April 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).

1.   Gaza Strip data is not available.

2.   The difference in the percentage change in major groups of roads, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
