Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in the West Bank - Fourth Quarter 2012
152 Thousand Guests Spent 362 Thousand Nights
During the fourth quarter of 2012, 152,159 guests stayed in hotels in the West Bank, spending 362,286 nights. Of these, 40% of nights were occupied by guests from European Union countries, 11% by Palestinians, and 9% from the United States and Canada.
The percentage of hotel guests increased by 11% compared to the previous quarter and also increased by 4% compared to third quarter of 2012.
Hotel Room Occupancy during Fourth Quarter 2012
The room occupancy rate in the West Bank was 28% in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Room occupancy during the fourth quarter of 2012 was 0.4% lower than in the previous quarter and 0.1% lower than in the fourth quarter of 2011.

During the fourth quarter of 2012, there were 2,476 hotel workers: 1,870 males and 606 females.
Hotel Capacity by Region
Hotels operating in the West Bank in December 2012 were distributed as follows:
· North of West Bank: 11 hotels comprising 241 rooms with 707 beds.
· Middle of West Bank: 30 hotels comprising 1,414 rooms with 3,394 beds.
· Jerusalem: 30 hotels comprising 1,633 rooms with 3,590 beds.
· South of West Bank: 27 hotels comprising 2,089 rooms with 4,595 beds.
