Number of Settlers in West Bank Exceeds Half a Million
There are 144 settlements in the West Bank. The majority are located in Jerusalem governorate: 26 settlements, of which 16 have been annexed by Israel.

Data indicate that the number of settlers in the West Bank in 2012 was 563,546. Most of these settlers live in Jerusalem governorate with 277,501 settlers in total, including 203,176 in Jerusalem governorate (J1).

Most settlers (277,501) are concentrated in the Jerusalem governorate, constituting 49.2% of all settlers in the West Bank. Of these,203,176 settlers are in the Jerusalem (J1) area (those parts of Jerusalem annexed by Israel in 1967). Other settlers are in Ramallah & Al-Bireh governorate (107,586 settlers), Bethlehem governorate (66,392 settlers), then Salfit governorate (35,138 settlers). The governorate with the lowest number of settlers was Tubas with 1,452 settlers.
