Palestinian Wholesale Price Index

Increase in the Wholesale Price1 Index during 2013

 

 

The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine with its 2007 base year (2007=100) reached 120.36 in 2013, which indicates an increase by 0.78% compared to 2012.

 

Prices of Wholesale Price Index for 2013 increased due to the increase of Agriculture goods by 1.07%, Manufacturing group by 0.63%, and Mining and quarrying by 4.09%, while the price of Fishing decreased by 3.21%.

 

The price of imported products increased by 0.79%, while the price of local products decreased by 0.39%.

 

Increase in the WPI during the Fourth Quarter of 2013

 

The overall Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Palestine with its base year (2007=100) reached 121.70 in the Fourth quarter 2013, which indicates an increase by 0.56% compared to the Third quarter 2013.

 

 

Wholesale Price Index for imported products (2007=100) reached 124.98 in the Fourth quarter 2013, which indicates an increase by 3.24% compared to the Third quarter 2013.

 

Wholesale Price Index for local products (2007=100) reached 119.18 in the Fourth quarter 2013, which indicates a decrease by 1.07% compared to the Third quarter 2013.

 

                                                           

The change of Wholesale Price Index in the Fourth quarter 2013 is traced back to changes in the prices of the following major activities compared to the previous quarter:
