Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics Announces the completion of the Solar Energy Project at PCBS HQ in Ramallah City

Ramallah, 02/06/2022 – PCBS completes the Solar Energy Project at its HQ in Ramallah with a financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

PCBS is keen to achieve sustainable development and a clean environment through the use of renewable energy sources. This project was implemented under the supervision of a specialized technical team from PCBS, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and Energy and Natural Resources Authority. The power capacity of the installed solar panels reach 60 KW, and it will generate about 100 MWh/year of power. This, in return shall help in reducing electricity consumption of about 17%.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Ola Awad, President of PCBS, extended her deep gratitude and thanks to Norway, both its government and its people for the long-term and continuous partnership. H.E. Dr. Awad also stressed that PCBS shall maintain its excellence with the directions of the Palestinian Government in the energy sector.

In turn, H.E. Ms. Torunn Viste, Representative of Norway to the PA, emphasized that their support to PCBS is one of the efforts they seek to continue building Palestinian institutions, noting that the Government of Norway supports the implementation of such environment friendly projects, hoping to continue its support for PCBS in order to strengthen its place at local, regional and international levels.
